Cutting Garden and Bouquet Workshop

Sunday April 10th 2pm-4:30pm $135

Join Gwen for a special afternoon about all things cut flowers and foliage! This special workshop will start with refreshments, time to find a workstation to settle in and chat. We will make our way out to the garden where you can ask questions about cutting gardens, sowing seeds and harvesting flowers. This will be a broad overview of growing cut flowers in your yard and garden, getting ideas and insight. Bring a notepad and pen to take notes:)

We will walk the garden and some surrounding areas where Gwen will point out many of the common and uncommon plants that are invaluable for cut foliage. See how you can incorporate things into your landscaping that can support you in creating bouquets!

The second part of the workshop is the glorious time where you can get your hands on some gorgeous cut flowers, learn the mechanics of creating a lush full compote arrangement and create something of your own! You will be provided with a vessel to create your arrangement in, snips to use, and a beautiful smorgasbord of cut flowers and foliage to choose from!

You will follow along through the process as Gwen guides in both the mechanics of getting your vessel ready and then tips and tricks on how to place foliage and flowers into your vessel while adding your own interpretations to create an arrangement that is uniquely yours. Grab a girlfriend or two, share some fun moments laughing and creating, while learning something that can be a wonderful activity through the seasons! Gwen will be providing a special plant to each student to add to their own cutting garden at the end of the class.

This workshop will either be held inside our event building or out on the patio depending on the weather. Please dress accordingly to walk through grass and possible soft ground for the tour.
